Pulborough Rugby Football Club
Pulborough RFC has been established for over 40 years and operates three senior sides and a thriving minis and youth section. Pulborough plays a vital part in bringing together many communities within the local area. The club's catchment area is made up of many smaller villages and the clubs undertakes a lot of work with local schools.
With over 200 senior members and 400 in the mini's and youth section, the club is run by over 60 volunteer coaches and 40 administrators, group managers and committee members. The club operates to very clear values and all members feel very much part of the family. With an open door policy the club keeps membership fees to a minimum to ensure it is affordable for all.
The minis/youth section of the clubs has doubled in size over the last five years and the aim is now to focus on growing the girls' team. Whilst Pullborough is very keen to expand the club, it is clear that the current values must be upheld and maintained. With a focus on enjoying rugby first and winning second, the club is looking to invest in coaching and hope that committed players will join.
Mike Fisher, committee member, said: 'Our £550 Cash 4 Clubs grant will be put towards training volunteer coaches specifically to focus on the girls section of the club. We have already seen that the introduction of this section has brought new families to the club and now we want to invest in the resources in pushing the development of this section. It is great to be able to get more and more people involved in this fantastic sport! Thanks Cash 4 Clubs.'
