Welton & Brough Sports Club

Welton & Brough Sports Club is a vibrant hub within the local community and as a focus the club is charged by the ECB with developing junior cricket in the local area. Formed in 2007 with the amalgamation of two well respected cricket clubs in the area who had both been playing cricket for over a hundred years, the merger has seen the club go from strength to strength.

Offering competitive cricket, weekly coaching sessions are well attended and open to members and the wider community. Membership is rapidly growing and fast approaching 300. Quite simply, the clubs aspiration is to increase junior participation in sport, encouraging them to continue through adulthood whilst developing life skills.

Mike Hills, coach, said: 'To enable the club to expand its operations additional coaches are required and we're going to put our Cash 4 Clubs grant to great use. With the £1,000 we've received we'll put a number of volunteer coaches on training courses and we can buy the training aids to ensure we continue to grow our activities year on year.'
