Queensbury Cricket Club
Queensbury Cricket Club was formed in 2000 and is the only cricket club in the local community. The club aims to be viewed as a valuable community asset; coaches run after school clubs as well as running teams at the club providing young people with the opportunity to learn new skills and experience competitive cricket.
Plans are already well under way for the 2011 season with the continued development of the club's young players being key. The grant the club has received will go towards making this plan a reality and will mean that no young person will be excluded on financial grounds from any of the development opportunities provided by the club.
Neil Myers, Junior Manager, said: "With plans to expand and develop our junior section this grant of £860 will see us put more volunteer coaches through the Level 1 and 2 Coaching Courses as well as ensuring everyone has the relevant child protection and first aid training. We are delighted that Cash 4 Clubs could see how committed we are to delivering a structured training programme for our younger players and are grateful that we can offer training opportunities to our volunteers."
