Bridlington Blades
Bridlington Blades is a fencing club in Yorkshire which is run by a committee of volunteers, some as young as nine. The club offers its members the opportunity to develop and practice fencing skills in an environment where people can build their confidence and self discipline.
Based in a deprived rural area the club offers local residents a chance to get involved in a physical activity. The committee are keen to promote the benefits of sport to all and with their £1,000 grant they will be able to ensure they have enough trained coaches to ensure the club can offer a space to everyone coming through its doors.
Valerie Hoodless, Club Secretary , said: "We'll be spending our Cash 4 Clubs grant on training a number of our coaches. Some will be working towards their Level 1 and others towards their Level 2 qualifications which will ensure we continue to provide quality training to all of our members."
