Rugby Lions Minis & Juniors
The Rugby Lions Minis and Juniors boast over 200 members age between 5 and 17 years old. Working within the local community, the club promotes the sport and aims, through quality coaching, to allow all players to achieve their full potential.
The club encourages lifelong enjoyment of the game but as the membership continues to grow, they have outsized their club grounds and have to rent additional space at a nearby public park where the minis and juniors play and train. With this expansion has come a stretch on equipment so the club applied for a grant to invest in post protectors. Simply by having these they can run sessions on an extra pitch which will help the mini and junior sections and will also allow the club to start a ladies team.
Andrew Machon, Committee Member, said: "As our club has continued to grow we've seen ourselves running out of the necessary equipment. We're so pleased to have got a Cash 4 Clubs grant as this injection of £350 into the club means we can now buy post protectors for one of our pitches, which are needed before a game can take place."
