Phoenix Trampoline Club
The Phoenix Trampoline Club in Telford has been established for more than 15 years and is made up of both competitive and recreational members. As a club very active in the community they ensure the sport is made available to all via free taster sessions at local primary schools and though displays at local events.
With one of the club's aims being to grow and to be recognised as the number one club in Shropshire it is vital that the majority of volunteer coaches are skilled in the required techniques. With an emphasis on development, the club applied and received a £600 grant to train volunteers who started with the club as competitive members over ten years ago. By having extra coaches the club is able to support members at all levels.
Peter Limbrick, Club Secretary, said: "With such great support from various members of the community we're delighted to receive this grant which will mean we can support two of our longest serving trampolinists to achieve their Level 1 coaching awards. They have been training with us since they were about six so it is great that they are keen to take on more responsibility within the club, working with younger members at each coaching session."
