Birchfield Athletics
Based in Birmingham, Birchfield Athletics provides access to training across a variety of disciplines to over 200 club members. The club aims to be one of the best in the UK and is on its way there with a strong membership at all age groups and a number with international hopefuls.
Welcoming athletes from all backgrounds the club's aim is to develop each individual to their full potential, whether that is to an international level or simply to compete in local fun runs.
Catherine Muth, committee member, said: 'The £750 we've received from Cash 4 Clubs will allow us to send five volunteers on coaching courses. We never want to turn away anyone who is interested in sport and the provision of more qualified coaches will mean that we don't have to for the foreseeable future.'
With aspirations to grow the club and develop the Academy, Birchfield Athletics' award will ensure young people are provided with high level of coaching and development opportunities. The addition of 5 new coaches will mean the club can take on up to 90 additional athletes training regularly on our Club night.
