The National Smelting Co Amateur Boxing Club
The National Smelting Co Amateur Boxing Club was formed in 1934 and to this day, continues to provide people living in Bristol with the opportunity to take part in weekly boxing training and competitions. Working in a multi-cultural city, the club operates a policy of social inclusion and prides itself on offering an outlet for your people living in disadvantages areas of Bristol.
The club promotes fitness, discipline, friendship, fair play, respect and confidence and seeks to offer activities to ensure antisocial behaviour is reduced in the surrounding areas.
Whilst always looking to increase participation, the club also nurtures existing members and encourages them to develop their coaching skills. The £500.00 Cash 4 Clubs grant will pay for two of the club's senior boxers, one male and one female, to qualify as Amateur Boxing Association Assistant Coaches.
Garry Cave, Head Coach, said: "Thanks to Betfair and Cash 4 Clubs this award will help us qualify two boxers as coaches and secures our clubs future".
