Bradley Stoke Netball Club

Bradley Stoke Netball Club is thriving club which aims to offer good, fun access to netball for women and girls of all ages. The club currently has four squads competing in Avon League in divisions 1, 2, 8 and 11 and it continues to grow; in the last seven years alone the club has gone from seven to 50 players!

The club believes in offering access to team sport in a fun, friendly and welcoming way. There is very little access to extracurricular team sport for girls and young women in South Gloucestershire so the club's current aim is to create a brand new section of the club for girls aged 11 - 15.

By creating this new section, which will run alongside the established club, they hope to field youth teams in the future and also have sights on creating links with the local secondary school to deliver training and the Young Netball Organiser course. With the support of the Club, these young leaders will then have the chance to help teach local primary school children Hi5 Netball.

Sophie Warner, committee member, said: 'We're so pleased to have received this grant! With the £500 from Cash 4 Clubs we're going to pay for two assistant coach qualifications; our existing coaches will be able to develop their skills as the club's membership grows. Our next aim is to achieve Gold Clubmark status within the year!'
