Parkour Club

Parkour Club is a newly formed free running club based in Farnham, Surrey. The aim of the club is to deliver an opportunity for young people from all backgrounds to experience an equal chance to excel in a sport. The club has been able to reach out youths who have been unable to engage in traditional sports for whatever reason, and has given them an opportunity to participate in an exercise programme, learn new skills, make new friends and to keep them off the streets. They do not charge membership as many of the young people for whom the club is aimed, cannot afford to pay fees.

Parkour Club has been going for six months on a trial basis on Monday evenings and is now looking to re-launch with a further coach and assistant coaches. The Cash 4 Clubs sports grant of £500 was awarded to the club to assist them with re-launching the club. They are looking to buy safety mats and need funding towards paying for coaches salaries and expenses, and to help with marketing and publicity materials.

"It's really great to get this award as it means we'll be able to continue recruiting more members to our Parkour club because the £500 will get us more safety mats." Emma Williams.
