Medway Towns Rowing Club
The main aim of Medway Towns Rowing Club is to provide a rowing facility for everybody regardless of age or ability. With over 100 active members the club has recently finished fitting out its new boathouse which is over three times the size of the wooden hut they used to use.
With a recreational and competitive arm the club is currently working with local schools to introduce the sport to young people in the area. They are keen to promote a healthy lifestyle and are pleased to report that their junior squad has been growing over recent months. Due to this expansion they are now in a position where they need to purchase new equipment to keep up with the demand at training sessions.
Alan Blackman, Chairman, said: "Our grant of £500 will mean we can buy sculling oars for our junior squad to use when training. We're keen to ensure they have the correct kit but with the recent expansion of the club it has been very hard to keep up with demand for additional equipment. Thanks for your support Cash 4 Clubs!"
