Rocklands Cricket Club
Rocklands Cricket Club, in the Breckland area of Norfolk, is run solely by volunteers and boasts almost 100 members. The club aims to provide high quality cricket opportunities, cricket development experiences and enjoyment of associated activities for all who desire this within the local community, irrespective of gender, age, ethnicity or disability.
As the local sporting hub, Rockalnds's facilities are used by the local primary school with pupils receiving coaching from club coaches. Over the last 10 years the club has developed a number of junior and senior teams playing both competitive and friendly cricket and recently achieved ClubMark status.
With this continued growth the committee have flagged the need for additional coaching support. To enable more new members to join, it was decided to invest in coaching training
Martin Walker, committee member, said: 'We need additional coaches to supplement our existing team and the club has identified three young members to attend the requisite courses, which our Cash 4 Clubs grant of £750 will help fund. We are confident that these individuals are ready to step up to the next level and are glad that their skills will be passed on to the next generation of players at Rocklands.'
