Jets Volleyball Club

Jets Volleyball Club is now the biggest volleyball club in Edinburgh and Scotland fielding six teams in the Scottish National Volleyball League and two teams in the Edinburgh District Volleyball League. The club also has a strong junior section with a number of competitive and recreational teams.

Offering volleyball sessions for beginners with no experience to players playing at national level the club is active throughout the community. They work hard to promote an active and healthy lifestyle and aim to continue to do this.

Particular effort is being focused on getting young people involved with sport and the club are about to launch a junior programme. Their Cash 4 Clubs grant of £650 was awarded to support this project which will see volleyball being taken into local primary and secondary schools.

Martyn Johnstone, Coach, said: "With our club being involved in so many areas of the community we're delighted to receive this Cash 4 Clubs grant that will allow us to subsidise our new junior project. The grant will go towards paying the sports hall rental fees and buying some specific equipment for the junior section. We hope that by introducing the sport to young people a number of them will continue to enjoy volleyball and become part of Jets."
