Wrekenton Nuo Camp

The Wrekenton Nuo Camp is a football club operating in a disadvantaged area in Gateshead in County Durham. The club which was only established in 2008 now has over 150 children aged 5-16 of all abilites with dedicated coaches and a well run committee. Previously there had been no football club in the area with little else for the local children to get involved in. The club has been set up on an area of disused land, turning it into a safe and supportive place for children to come and fun.

The club aims to expand on their activities, to grow from the current 12 teams and to set up a small sided local league. Future goals include building a club house and proper car parking facilities.

The Cash 4 Clubs sports grant of £1,000 was awarded to the club to enable them to purchase new equipment to be able to cater for their expanding membership and to provide better quality facilities. The funding will help towards new kit and with the replacement of wore out footballs and damaged goal posts.

"This money will make a huge difference to the children of our club. With the money we will be able to get new goals, footballs and training equipment. As you can imagine running a football club is very expensive and without help from Cash 4 Clubs and other organizations we would not be able to get new training equipment for the children. We are extremely grateful to you for your generosity," Wrekenton Nou Camp.
