Sheriff Hill Football Club
Established in 2006, Sheriff Hill Football Club is a FA Charter Standard status club in Tyne and Wear with 140 your people playing on a regular basis. The club is very inclusive in its approach and encourages membership regardless of race, sex disability or ability.
Operating in of one of the most deprived areas in the UK, Sheriff Hill provides local residents with the opportunity to take part in sport, encouraging not only a healthy lifestyle but often providing them with a social network.
With player numbers continuing to increase the club were desperately in need of updated coaching equipment. The £500 Cash 4 Clubs grant will mean that new footballs, space markers, cones and escape belts can be purchased, which will ensure more and more new players can be welcomed to the club.
Andrea Watkins, Committee member, said: "This money will enable us to purchase training equipment which will help us to progress the children of our club even further. Our previous equipment was in poor condition and needed replaced; thanks to Cash 4 Clubs we can now do so."
