Market Harborough Squash & Racquetball Club

A silver Clubmark awarded squash and racquetball club, Market Harborough has grown its membership in the last year from around 100 to 170 members. Currently with 6 teams in Leicestershire and Northamptonshire leagues, the club also runs 19 internal squash leagues and 3 racquetball leagues and they expect an even busier year in 2012.

Whilst the club is obviously not short of members, it is keen to expand its junior coaching and to increase court usage during the daytime; it wants to increase accessibility and participation.

Alison Avil, committee member, said: 'The £1,000 Cash 4 Clubs grant has enabled us to ensure we have trained coaches for each court on Saturday mornings. It has also given us the flexibility to run racquetball courses for adults and juniors, but particularly adults, looking to increase the court usage during the daytime. We hope this will see us become a centre of excellence for squash in the South Leicestershire and North Northamptonshire region.'
