Welling United Youth
Welling United Youth is a community focused family club based in Plumstead. With over 250 members the club provides football coaching to players of all abilities and backgrounds, from the ages of 4 to 18. Due to the excellent reputation the club has for providing first class, safe, and fun coaching they have seen participant numbers increase significantly over the last few years. With a vision to continue to develop and grow the club, Welling United is keen to increase the participation of female players.
To ensure the club can provide a well equipped training space for all players they now need to make an additional investment in equipment. They came to Cash 4 Clubs to seek funding for mini soccer goals as with a new set, they'll be in a great position to increase the provision of mini soccer to more members of the community - one set of new goals will allow them to form up to seven new teams.
Joe Kwaramba, Committee Member, said: "Our top priority at the moment is equipment so this grant of £500 will enable us to purchase a set of mini soccer goals. This investment form Cash 4 Clubs will see our mini soccer section move forward as we'll be able to involve significantly more members of the community. To date we've been restricted to a limited number of participants due to the lack of equipment so it is great to be able to step things up a gear!".
