Waterloo Sports and Football Club
Waterloo FC was formed in 1997 and is based in Lambeth in South East London. Founded by local young people and parents, concerned with the lack of sport provision for young people in the Waterloo and surrounding area the club provides a variety of sport, physical fitness, educational and mentoring programmes.
The club's vision is of a world where young people are no longer disadvantaged by their financial, geographic or family circumstances, where they can develop their skills and abilities to be successful in the world in their own right and belong to a supportive and inclusive community.
The Cash 4 Clubs grant of £750.00 will ensure the club can meet the cost of pitch hire at their home ground in Sydenham. This will allow more young people to get invovled with the sports and to enjoy playing.
Maria Reynolds, Secretary, said: "We are delighted to receive this award from Cash4Clubs. It is greatly appreciated by the Club and will enable us to continue to support young people from disadvantaged communities in the local area, to participate in and enjoy the benefits of regular affiliated football, without price being a barrier."
