Croydon Hurricanes
Croydon Hurricanes was formed in 2003 to give young people in South London the opportunity to play rugby league. Working with over 30 feeder schools, the club aims to enrich the lives of players, raising their self-esteem and confidence in a friendly environment.
The club is open to anybody who wants to play, regardless of ability and background. The Hurricanes aim to be a hub for the whole community engaging not only players but their families and members of the wider community in the running of the club.
By providing access to coaching and training, the club seeks to integrate people from different sectors of the community, teach them new skills and promote team work. Cash 4 Clubs awarded Croydon Hurricanes £500.00 to ensure they could purchase the equipment needed due to recent expansion.
Mark Roughsedge, committee member, said: "The Cash 4 Clubs grant of £500 is going to be of great benefit to Croydon Hurricanes. It will allow the club to improve our match day environment and will be used to purchase much needed Post Protectors and Corner Flags. Cash 4 clubs is a fantastic scheme and has proved a valuable one to Croydon Hurricanes Rugby League Club."
