Bangladesh Football Association (UK)

Bangladesh Football Association is a pioneering organisation whose main aim is to provide sporting opportunities to young people in London whilst challenging the under-representation of Asians/Bangladeshi's in mainstream football. At the moment the club has 42 adult teams and 25 youth teams, allowing talented young people to play at the highest level. By running football leagues and tournaments for all children and young people, the club also allows people to develop their personal and social skills.

So far a strong and successful adult football league has been set up, with an exit route through the semi-professional team but the clubs goal is to develop further the youth league and women's football. They are making steady progress with developing the youth league and aspire to continue this development.

The Cash 4 Clubs grant of £1,000 will enable the organisation to develop and stage regular tournaments, increasing the number of girls playing football in London. BY having an open door policy these sessions will ensure all sections of the community benefit from sport.

Kamrul Islam, project director, said: 'We bring over 1,200 children and young people together to play sport on a regular basis. Last year over 40 different nationalities played football in the league. This grant will mean we can get more young people in London engaged with sport and the tournaments will hopefully mean that we can go on to offer more girls the opportunity to play football at a competitive level. Our ultimate goal is to provide football for all and this is a small step towards that so thank you Cash 4 Clubs.'
