Erdington Gymnastics Club

Erdington Gymnastics Club is a well-established club in the West Midlands serving the children and young people of Erdington and the surrounding areas. With the majority of members coming from families living on low incomes, the club prides itself on offering accessible and affordable gymnastic classes four times per week.

Whilst members are encouraged to achieve at their own level and work towards local and regional competitions, the club's main focus is on promoting sports participation that will see children and young people living healthy, active lifestyles.

There is lots of great work already taking place but the club has aspirations to be bigger and better. To do this and to provide services to as many local children as possible, they know the club needs to get more volunteers involved.

Louise Combellack, coach, said: 'We hope to encourage young people to stay involved in the sport once their competition days are over. It is hoped that by investing in training for them, it will inspire them and in turn provide more coaches for our club. Courses are so expensive that it has put many of our volunteers off increasing their coaching qualifications. With our Cash 4 Clubs grant of £1,000 we are going to increase basic coaching skills and invest in a freestyle and parkour course."
