Hertfordshire Warriors Basketball Club

The Warriors main aim is to offer the opportunity to play basketball to all, no matter their level of play. With teams in both a national league and a local league the club has members of all ages.

The club is currently enjoying levels of membership and success beyond the amount dreamed of when first formed. Most recently the Warriors have been working hard to get more girls playing basketball through links with local schools. They've done so well that the level of interest now outstretches the capacity of their current coaches. The Cash 4 Clubs grant will be used to qualify more coaches so the club can cater for the number of girls that want to play for the Warriors.

Tony Marmo, committee member, said: 'We're so excited to have got this grant. The £750 will allow us to send five female volunteers on a Level 2 Basketball Coaching Award course. Once trained, these volunteers will be able to coach our new girls' teams which is simply great news for the club.'
