EDGE Judo

Formed in 2004 EDGE Judo, based in Harlow, offers judo, body conditioning and circuit sessions to members of the local community regardless of their age and ability. The club's management committee works hard to create a holistic environment and looks to educate and attract those who would not normally have tried martial arts as an activity to improve skills, confidence, well-being or fitness.

EDGE Judo also encourages volunteers and develops coaches to assist in achieving the dream of a thriving and inclusive Dojo that caters for everyone from novice, social, graded, competitor, through to national and international players.

Cash 4 Clubs awarded EDGE Judo £750.00 to ensure they can continue to support their existing volunteer coaches. The money will be spent on UK Coaching Certificates to qualify two of the current volunteers.

Mark Conway, Head Coach, said: "This is really exciting for us as we have just moved into our new dojo and the grant means we are able to start planning and implementing technical analysis sessions now we can purchase a video camera. We will be able to improve not only our coaches' qualifications but also our students' education and understanding of judo movements and develop our students' mental imagery as well as their physical ability."
